The lecture from Dr.Jayasekara and Dr. Hettiarachchi on Climate and Health effects of regional Nuclear war was highlighted in the workshop and it was a good opportunity to discuss and clarify many issues/problems of the participants and they discussed about the current issues with the Nuclear accident in Fukushima in Japan. And also this helped to initiate a new topic to SCI where we can contribute to Peace in another way. In the 3rd day of the workshop we made a plan of action for year 2011 with the new suggestions and ideas of the participants. More good news from world-wide have arrived - so here some highlights. Maduka Karunarathe from SCI Sri Lanka shared news about a No-more-war training they had at the beginning of May and now we have pictures - just click here to go to their Picasa page. A short summary of the very interesting seminar directly quoted from the mail of Maduka below - Matteo is already in direct contact with Christy Roy Nishantha Ruwanpura (who thankfully also had joined us in the Campcoordinator training in Germany) to get more informations about the coming NMW-workcamps so you can participate there :D
Hi all,
never running out of things to learn - this time I will have to do some reconstruction work on the database, so things may not run smoothly this weekend - afterwards you will be greeted with links to most of the no-more-war workcamp descriptions on the workcamps.info database, so there is something to look forward to after I have solved some issues over here :)
Warm regards,
Georg
Update: All should be fine again (actually it was not a big problem, but still I had to clean the database from long gone plugin entries and edit about 53 articles - still have to clean some pages - Lesson to be learned - do NOT install any plugin in a production environment without testing it first in a test installation ;) ).
By the way, all the no-more-war links in the workcamp database which we were able to find are now in the Workcamps-page above. So you can see, which ones are certain to happen this year and when - and can see a description following the links!
