More good news from world-wide have arrived – so here some highlights. Maduka Karunarathe from SCI Sri Lanka shared news about a No-more-war training they had at the beginning of May and now we have pictures – just click here to go to their Picasa page. A short summary of the very interesting seminar directly quoted from the mail of Maduka below – Matteo is already in direct contact with Christy Roy Nishantha Ruwanpura (who thankfully also had joined us in the Campcoordinator training in Germany) to get more informations about the coming NMW-workcamps so you can participate there
The lecture from Dr.Jayasekara and Dr. Hettiarachchi on Climate and Health effects of regional Nuclear war was highlighted in the workshop and it was a good opportunity to discuss and clarify many issues/problems of the participants and they discussed about the current issues with the Nuclear accident in Fukushima in Japan. And also this helped to initiate a new topic to SCI where we can contribute to Peace in another way.
In the 3rd day of the workshop we made a plan of action for year 2011 with the new suggestions and ideas of the participants. Many were planned to organize weekend, summer and winter workcamps which highlight the theme of “NO MORE WAR”.
